*Helmet Requirement for all SKI CROSS Competitors REMINDER*

As a reminder, helmets for use in SKI CROSS events ARE REQUIRED to be specifically designed and manufactured for the use in SKI CROSS. The helmet shall be certified under both ASTM F2040 and EN 1077 (class A – hard sided)

SKI CROSS competitors who are NOT wearing an ASTM 2040 and EN 1077 (class A – hard sided) helmet are PROHIBITED from accessing the course. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Helmet conformity to rule 151.03 of the current USASA Rulebook will be checked & enforced during the upcoming USASA RMS Ski Cross and Boardercross races at Palisades Tahoe.

You will not be allowed to participate in the session without an approved helmet. Please review section 151.03 of the current USASA rulebook for clarification.

Snowboarders participating in boardercross must use a helmet that is specifically designed and manufactured for use in snow sports and shall bear a CE mark and conform to recognized and appropriate standards such as CEE 1077 or US/ASTM 2040

151.03 Safety Equipment

• The use of helmets is mandatory for all coaches and competitors during inspection, training and competition at all USASA events.
• Helmets shall be specifically designed and manufactured for use in snow sports and shall bear a CE mark and conform to recognized and appropriate standards such as CEE 1077 or US/ASTM 2040
• Helmets for use in Ski Cross events shall be specifically designed and manufactured for the respective discipline. The helmet shall be certified under both ASTM 2040 and EN 1077 (class A – hard sided)
• Helmet conformity to the rules may be checked at any event, and the lack of an approved helmet is grounds for refusal to allow a competitor to participate in an event.
• The helmet must be attached as per manufacturer’s specifications. There are no physical modifications to the helmet are permitted. The use of helmet mounted cameras is not allowed.
